1998

  National Council of Urban Indian Health (NCUIH) Founded NCUIH is a 501(c)(3) member organization that provides advocacy, education, training, and policy analysis for UIHPs at the federal level.

1997

Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI) Congress creates the SDPI due to diabetes’s emergence as one of the greatest threats to Indian health since the tuberculosis epidemic of the 1950s.
